Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Charles Pierce (ranked 5512 p4p, 0 weight class) and Clayton Hamilton (ranked 6963 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Charles Pierce!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Clayton Hamilton!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Franklyn Lucas and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pierce keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Hamilton.
Hamilton throws a jab when Pierce was well out of range.
A swing and a miss from Hamilton.
Pierce avoids the head kick by Hamilton.
Pierce is looking for a counter combo.
Hamilton misses with a wild combination.
Hamilton throws a nice looking combination but Pierce bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Pierce looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Hamilton really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pierce. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Pierce lands a couple of elbows.
Pierce really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Pierce gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Hamilton throws a poor cross that misses
and Pierce counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Hamilton thinking.

Pierce rushes Hamilton and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Pierce successfully pulls guard.
Pierce will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Pierce manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Hamilton tries to break free but Pierce pushes him back against the cage.

Hamilton breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Pierce drives through with a takedown into Hamilton's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Hamilton wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Pierce manages to pass to side control.

Hamilton has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Pierce is working away from the top position though.
Pierce looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Pierce lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Pierce stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Hamilton to get to his feet.
Hamilton swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Pierce closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hamilton to the mat! Hamilton manages to get full guard.
Hamilton is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Pierce dives into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hamilton tries to buck Pierce off but Pierce is having none of it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pierce stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Hamilton scores with a jab to the head.
Hamilton is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.

Hamilton gets caught flat footed, as Pierce shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Hamilton is looking to stand up but Pierce isn't so interested in that idea.

Pierce stands up and waves to Hamilton to follow him.

Hamilton feints and then cracks Pierce's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Pierce down.
Hamilton throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Hamilton throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Pierce gets a double leg takedown into Hamilton's guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pierce accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Hamilton working a defensive guard but Pierce manages to pass into side control anyway.
Hamilton tries to control but Pierce manages to take his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Pierce's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Pierce bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Hamilton is trying to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pierce is putting a hurting on Hamilton here, landing some big shots from side control.
Pierce creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Pierce decides to stand back up.
Nice uppercut there from Hamilton.
Hamilton tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Pierce drops down looking for a counter takedown but Hamilton sprawls and moves away.
Hamilton lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Pierce shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Hamilton tries to kick Pierce off in order to stand up. Pierce Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

Pierce has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Pierce dodges the punch combination from Hamilton.
Hamilton throws a leg kick but Pierce sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Clayton Hamilton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Good leg kick by Hamilton there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Pierce turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Pierce manages to end up in side control.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Hamilton wants to get back to his feet but Pierce drags him back down.
Hamilton takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Hamilton takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Hamilton takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Pierce is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hamilton knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Pierce looks up at the clock and then as Hamilton takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Pierce smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Pierce throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hamilton was covering up waiting for the punch and Pierce finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Clayton Hamilton has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Charles Pierce is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Pierce fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Hamilton to the ground. Pierce is now in Hamilton's guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Charles Pierce showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Pierce, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
