Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Chang Walsh (ranked 24717 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Lang (ranked 5436 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Chang Walsh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jason Lang!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Ren Mimura and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lang throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Walsh tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Lang is in Walsh's guard.
Lang tries to free his leg and advance position but Walsh is retaining full guard.
Walsh knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lang on the ground.
Lang passes Walsh's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Lang is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Walsh doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Lang.
Walsh is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Walsh blocking the ground and pound attempt from Lang.
Lang seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Walsh wants to get back to full guard.

Walsh has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Lang is working away from the top position though.

Lang is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Walsh doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Lang.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Lang is working for a submission of some sort.
Walsh tries to roll over but Lang keeps him under control.
Lang trying to control the pace.

Lang seems to be looking for submissions.
Lang sitting and controlling from the half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Lang clinches.

Lang escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Lang clinches up with Walsh and pushes him back against the cage.
Walsh drops down looking for an ankle pick but Lang pulls his leg out and moves away.
Lang misses with a body kick.

Walsh is working an open guard so Lang takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Walsh really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Lang drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Lang is trying to get an arm triangle but Walsh is defending well.

Lang controls the position.
Walsh tries to buck Lang off but Lang is having none of it.

Lang is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Walsh is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
A lull in the action here as Lang stalls from top position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Lang throwing shots but missing, from side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Lang closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Lang lands in his opponent's guard.
Walsh wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Lang manages to pass to side control.

Lang throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Lang seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Jason Lang has got the better of the ground game so far.
Walsh tries to roll over but Lang keeps him under control.

Lang's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Walsh is looking for a sweep. Lang is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Well, if Lang is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Walsh is trying to control but can't.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Lang looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Lang is looking for submissions but instead, Walsh has regained full guard.
Lang stands and throws Walsh's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Lang working the ground and pound.
Lang has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Lang stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Lang looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Walsh is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lang defends well.
Lang seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Lang slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Lang misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

Walsh tries to bench press Lang off him but Lang keeps the position.
Lang moves into full mount!

Walsh really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Lang avoids the attempt from Walsh to control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Walsh is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Jason Lang showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Lang fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Chang Walsh is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Nice shot by Lang.
Walsh walks forward, straight into a front kick from Lang.

Lang instigates a clinch.

Lang's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Walsh enables Lang to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Walsh manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Lang gets to his feet - Walsh follows without any prompting.

Lang closes the distance and clinches.

Walsh gets tackled into the cage by Lang. Lang maintains the clinch.
The referee calls for Lang to work.

Lang pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Lang shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Walsh manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Lang engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lang accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Lang tries to free his leg and advance position but Walsh is retaining full guard.

Lang preventing the sweep.
Lang pushes down on Walsh's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Walsh is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Lang pulls his head out easily.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Lang takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Walsh manages to get to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Walsh is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Lang is controlling him.
Lang seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Lang stands up from Walsh's guard - Lang perhaps looking for a knockout.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Lang takes the fight into the clinch.
Lang lands a good knee to the midsection. Walsh won't want to take too many of those.

Lang gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Lang content to control rather than advance.
Lang sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Walsh defending well though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lang prevents Walsh from improving his position.
Lang thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Walsh's head.

Lang is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Walsh has managed to free his arm - good work.

Lang is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Walsh sees it coming and defends easily.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Lang moves nicely into side control.
Chang Walsh has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jason Lang is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Walsh throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jason Lang comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Lang has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
