Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Wale Ammond (ranked 1380 p4p, 164 weight class) and Ronald Wagenknecht (ranked 1252 p4p, 148 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Ammond might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Bad. Wale Ammond had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ronald Wagenknecht!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ammond tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Wagenknecht throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ammond was covering up waiting for the punch and Wagenknecht finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Ammond controls Wagenknecht momentarily but Wagenknecht frees himself.
Wagenknecht is pushing down on Ammond's leg trying to pass to half guard. Ammond is fighting to maintain full guard but Wagenknecht has managed to sneak the leg through.

Ammond had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Wagenknecht defends it easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Wagenknecht drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Wagenknecht jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Wagenknecht manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Ammond on his heels. He'll look to pass Ammond's guard now, I'm sure.

A relieved looking Ronald Wagenknecht thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
