Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vernon Vollier (ranked 3511 p4p, 154 weight class) and Alexander Aurelio (ranked 5801 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vollier wants to clinch.

Vollier looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Aurelio!

Aurelio throws Vollier to one side and escapes!

Aurelio closes the distance and clinches.
Aurelio has had enough of the clinch but Vollier keeps him there for the moment.
Aurelio tries to score a body lock takedown but Vollier shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Aurelio's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Aurelio shoots for a takedown but Vollier saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Vollier throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Aurelio is trying hard to land a takedown here. Vollier sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Aurelio shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Vollier but Vollier pushes him off and we're back to square one.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Aurelio wants to control but Vollier is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Vollier throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Aurelio works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Aurelio wants to stand up but Vollier is controlling him.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That was a close round but I would say that Vernon Vollier will probably get the nod.

Vollier shoots for a double leg takedown but Aurelio sprawls well. He's pushed Vollier's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Vollier fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Aurelio to the ground. Vollier is now in Aurelio's guard.

Aurelio has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Vollier has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Vollier ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Vollier no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

It seemed like Aurelio was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Alexander Aurelio showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Aurelio lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Aurelio tries to close the distance and clinch up but Vollier swats him away and circles back towards the center.
