Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pena Pulkkinen (ranked 51 p4p, 3 weight class) and Richard Kuklinsky (ranked 83 p4p, 8 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

With a record of 16 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Richard Kuklinsky!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pulkkinen scores with a nice body kick.

Kuklinsky takes one on the button.
Pulkkinen ducks under a wild hook from Kuklinsky.
Pulkkinen appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
Kuklinsky takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Pulkkinen throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Kuklinsky stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
A looping hook to the body misses from Kuklinsky. Pulkkinen does a little dance to reset his feet.
Pulkkinen looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Kuklinsky throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Pulkkinen works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Pulkkinen looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Kuklinsky closes the distance and clinches.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Pulkkinen really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Pulkkinen's corner calls for a 1-2. Pulkkinen obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Kuklinsky throws a combination that misses
and Pulkkinen cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Kuklinsky throws a right hand that misses
and Pulkkinen counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Kuklinsky looks to score with a jab to the body but Pulkkinen is just out of range.

Pulkkinen misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kuklinsky.
Kuklinsky on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Pulkkinen. Pulkkinen obviously looking to wear him down.
Jab, jab by Pulkkinen - just one landing.

Kuklinsky fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Pulkkinen manages to avoid it.
Pulkkinen bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Kuklinsky misses with a jab, cross combination.
Pulkkinen walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Pulkkinen throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A thudding body kick lands there by Pulkkinen!
Pulkkinen thuds his shin into the meat of Kuklinsky's side.
Kuklinsky looks winded!
A punch lands to the side of Kuklinsky 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Pulkkinen getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Kuklinsky misses with a series of wild punches.
Richard Kuklinsky seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kuklinsky throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Pulkkinen counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Pulkkinen slips a jab from Kuklinsky.
Kuklinsky on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Pulkkinen looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Pulkkinen - that will leave a mark!

Pulkkinen sends Kuklinsky crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Pulkkinen is motioning to the referee to let Kuklinsky up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!


It looks like Richard Kuklinsky has been cut.

Pulkkinen explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Pulkkinen lets loose with a powerful body kick. Kuklinsky will feel that in the morning.

Pulkkinen drops Kuklinsky with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Kuklinsky looks back up at him and smiles so Pulkkinen waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Kuklinsky is still on wobbly legs! Can Pulkkinen finish him?
Kuklinsky leaves his chin hanging out and Pulkkinen seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Kuklinsky crumbles to the floor in a heap, and the referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Pena Pulkkinen!
A victorious Pena Pulkkinen thanked his army of followers in his post fight interview, telling people to make sure they follow him on Twitter.
Richard Kuklinsky spoke after the fight, saying 'Congrats, you just had a very hard time beating up a girl.'.
