Villarreal gets caught napping as Vega dives in and scores a takedown. Villarreal manages to retain guard.
Vega tries to free his leg and advance position but Villarreal is retaining full guard.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Vega has eaten all the pies!
Vega throws a big right hand that misses.
Vega postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Vega trying to control but Villarreal is working from the bottom.

Vega stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Villarreal swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Vega distracts Villarreal with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vega is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Vega throws an elbow that misses. Villarreal uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Vega's guard. Nice move by Villarreal!

Villarreal got a little sloppy there for a moment and Vega has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Villarreal has managed to get both his arms back between Vega's legs - danger averted.
