The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Manel is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Adkins's half guard.
Adkins is looking to get back to is feet but Manel passes into side control.

Manel cracks Adkins with a big elbow.

Manel is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Adkins has escaped the position, nice work there.
A lull in the action here.
Adkins gets back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Manel tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Adkins.
Manel takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Let's hope that Manel has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Adkins missing with punches from the bottom.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Manel connects with a nice short shot to Adkins's temple.
Adkins is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Manel passes to full mount!
