Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between The Pew (ranked 4724 p4p, 429 weight class) and Anselm Plantinga (ranked 24632 p4p, 573 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pew doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Plantinga counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Pew misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Plantinga is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Pew with a body shot.

Pew passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Plantinga looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pew content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Pew swings around for an armbar but Plantinga sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Pew's guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Pew has a takedown stuffed.
Plantinga misses with a straight left.
As Plantinga tries to get set, Pew tries to push him back and clinch up but Plantinga manages to avoid the attempt.
Plantinga fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Pew throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Plantinga tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Pew is in Plantinga's guard.
Plantinga is adopting a defensive guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Pew closes the distance and clinches up with Plantinga, looking for a takedown. Pew pushes Plantinga against the cage but Plantinga circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Pew looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Plantinga is fending him off so far but Pew persists. Nope, Plantinga circles away and we're back to standing.
Pew takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Pew bobbing and weaving nicely... He's ducked under a jab and ducks again but ooooooh! Plantinga comes at him with an uppercut from hell! Pew falls to the canvas, unconscious! This one is all over! Oh man, looking at the replay that was right on the button! Pew was out before he hit the floor!
