Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 14 - 0, fighting out of London, Shane Brolly!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Billy Slayer!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Donald Grub and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Slayer drives through with a takedown into Brolly's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Brolly wants to stand up but Slayer is controlling him.
Slayer has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Brolly is proving hard to escape from.
Slayer missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Slayer is pushing down on Brolly's leg trying to pass to half guard. Brolly is fighting to maintain full guard but Slayer has managed to sneak the leg through.

Slayer is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Brolly has managed to free his arm - good work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Slayer wants to stand up but Brolly is controlling the position.
Slayer missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Slayer tries to pass the half guard into mount. Brolly knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Brolly keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Slayer is controlling the pace.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Slayer moves into the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Slayer pulls guard effortlessly.

Slayer is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Slayer has his hands on Brolly's head, controlling the position.
Brolly has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Brolly stopping the sweep attempt from Slayer.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Brolly stops Slayer from standing up.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Slayer holds on and takes a little breather.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Slayer wants to sweep but no luck.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Slayer fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Brolly sprawls well initially but Slayer persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Brolly knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Slayer on the ground.
Slayer controlling the pace.
Slayer thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Brolly's head.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Slayer not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Slayer perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Slayer missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Slayer wants to stand up but Brolly has a hold of him and won't allow it.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Slayer looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Brolly!
Brolly is breathing heavily.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Slayer decides to stand back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Billy Slayer dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Slayer darts in and clinches Brolly up against the cage.
Slayer prevents a takedown attempt there.

Slayer pulls Brolly into guard.
Brolly won't allow Slayer to get back to his feet.

Slayer looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Slayer escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Brolly gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Slayer pulls Brolly in close to his closed guard and prevents Brolly from doing any damage or advancing position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Slayer thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Slayer throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Slayer pulls Brolly in close to prevent any damage.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Slayer shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Brolly manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Slayer is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Slayer stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Slayer shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Brolly's guard.
Slayer throws a big elbow that misses.
Slayer has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Slayer seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Slayer passes into half guard.
Slayer is taking a breather. Brolly says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Let's hope that Slayer has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Slayer is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Brolly is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Billy Slayer!
