Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Len Walsh (ranked 21407 p4p, 606 weight class) and Emanuel Rodrigez (ranked 4851 p4p, 455 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Len Walsh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Emanuel Rodrigez!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rodrigez scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Walsh is looking to improve his position.
Walsh is trying to stand up here but Rodrigez is controlling him well.

Walsh could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Rodrigez is figuring out what he wants to do next.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rodrigez gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Walsh showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Rodrigez.

Rodrigez dives in and scores a takedown into Walsh's guard.

Walsh throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Rodrigez escapes and throws Walsh's legs to the side, diving into side control!
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Walsh tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Rodrigez controls the position.
A control attempt from Walsh but he's now mounted!

Walsh defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Rodrigez.

Walsh is looking to improve his position but Rodrigez isn't that keen on the idea.
Rodrigez has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Hardpunch (13 Elite / 1000$. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
Rodrigez wants to take his opponent's back but Walsh doesn't allow it.
Walsh is trying to escape the mount.

Walsh is looking to improve his position but Rodrigez isn't that keen on the idea.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Walsh working to try and regain half guard.
Walsh is trying to reverse the position but instead Rodrigez has taken his back - oops!
Rodrigez really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Walsh.
Walsh might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Walsh tries to escape but Rodrigez has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Rodrigez just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Let's hope that Rodrigez has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
It looks like Rodrigez might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Rodrigez has managed to slip his arm under Walsh's chin. This could be all over... yep, Walsh is tapping out! Submission win for Rodrigez.
