Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Max Mason (ranked 2468 p4p, 359 weight class) and Oliver Lancaster (ranked 5812 p4p, 589 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lancaster throws an off balance right hand
and Mason counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Mason lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Lancaster moves into the clinch.
Lancaster wants a takedown.

Mason breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Lancaster slips a jab from Mason.
Lancaster tries to clinch but Mason is having none of it.
Lancaster tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mason paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Mason was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Lancaster doesn't manage to clinch there - Mason circles away.
Mason swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Lancaster tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Mason manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Lancaster takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

and Mason counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Mason definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Lancaster tries to clinch there but Mason circles away.

Mason pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Lancaster back to the cage. Mason follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

and Mason counters with a right hand to the body.

Mason breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Lancaster swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Mason circles away from the clinch attempt
and Mason counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Lancaster thinking.

Mason swats away the attempt to clinch by Lancaster.
Lancaster misses with a left hand
and Mason counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Mason lands a right hook to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lancaster looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Mason lands with a hook. Lancaster tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
A jab from Lancaster misses.
Mason misses with a body shot.
Lancaster tries to counter by closing the distance.
Lancaster defending well as Mason loads up on a big left hand.
Lancaster looks to throw the jab but Mason is out of range.
Lancaster walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Mason checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Mason appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Mason clobbers Lancaster with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Lancaster misses with a leg kick
and Mason counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Mason misses the jab.
Mason displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Lancaster throws out the jab.
Mason connects with a body shot that sends Lancaster's belly button to the back.
Lancaster darts in trying to clinch
enabling Mason to counter with a crisp jab.
Lancaster blocks a jab.
Mason lands with a shot to the body.
Mason cracks Lancaster with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Lancaster has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Lancaster there as he acknowledges the shot.
Mason fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Mason keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Lancaster is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A low kick from Lancaster misses
and Mason scores with a counter punch that sends Lancaster to the canvas! Mason smells blood - he's punishing Lancaster with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Lancaster has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Max Mason!
