Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Zachary Hurst!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ali Sergeant!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Chris Edwards and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sergeant tries to keep at a distance but Hurst has taken the fight into the clinch.

Sergeant drags the fight down to the ground.
Hurst cracks Sergeant with a solid left hand.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Sergeant is on top in guard.


Hurst working for a triangle but Sergeant defends it easily.

Hurst is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sergeant won't allow Hurst to sweep him here.
Sergeant trying to control but Hurst is working from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Hurst throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Hurst keeping moving, preventing Sergeant from controlling successfully.
Sergeant passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Sergeant tries to advance to mount but Hurst instead regains half guard.
Hurst is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Sergeant's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Sergeant's back!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sergeant is trying to stand back up.
You can see the frustration on Sergeant's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Sergeant just trying to survive but Hurst is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Hurst could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Can Sergeant hold on?! Hurst is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.

Hurst is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Sergeant has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sergeant trying to get back to his feet but Hurst is in full control for now.

Hurst looking for the RNC.
Sergeant trying to control but not successfully.

Hurst goes for a risky armbar from back mount and it's not paid off. Sergeant escapes and is now in half guard on top.
Hurst is looking for a sweep. Sergeant is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Hurst manages to get to full guard.

Hurst working for a triangle but Sergeant defends it easily.
Sergeant trying to control but Hurst is working from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Zachary Hurst dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


A head kick misses from Hurst.

Sergeant bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Hurst manages to work his way to half guard, despite Sergeant's best efforts.
Sergeant scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Hurst wants to control but Sergeant is keeping busy.
Sergeant is just content to waste time from the top position. Hurst takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Ali Sergeant has got the better of the ground game so far.

Hurst is working an open guard so Sergeant takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hurst throws a head kick but Sergeant moves out of range.
Sergeant is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Sergeant moves in looking to clinch but Hurst pushes him off.

Sergeant wants to clinch but Hurst slips to the side

and Hurst counters with a takedown into side control.
Sergeant tries to bench press Hurst off him but Hurst keeps the position.

Hurst has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Sergeant is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Hurst yanks on the arm and Sergeant is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Hurst.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Zachary Hurst!
