Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Benson Whyte (ranked 148 p4p, 23 weight class) and Yamato Take (ranked 223 p4p, 39 weight class). Whyte comes to the cage accompanied by Bob Marley - Jammin. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Yamato Take enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Benson Whyte!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yamato Take!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Andrew Berry and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Take looks to land a body kick but Whyte moved away.
Whyte throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Take tries a head kick but it misses.
Take swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Whyte checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Whyte throws a body punch but Take moves out of range.
Take explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Take loads up on a big right hand but Whyte slips the punch.
Whyte takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Take.
A left lands for Take.
Take throws a leg kick
and Take takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Whyte slips under a jab from Take.
Take tries to move into range but Whyte moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Take turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Take closes the distance but Whyte moves to the side
and Whyte connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Take misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Take connects with a good right hand that stumbles Whyte. Whyte circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Take lands with a thumping leg kick.
Take throws a looping overhand right but Whyte ducks down to avoid it.
Take moves away from the strike by Whyte.
Whyte misses with a looping left.
Whyte keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Whyte checks the leg kick.
Whyte lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

Take chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Whyte can pounce on him.
Whyte uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Take.

Yamato Take seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Whyte throws a low kick, looking for Take's leg but Take calmly moves out of range.
Take tries a quick counter leg kick but Whyte is wise to it.
Whyte has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Take.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Take uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Whyte.
Whyte looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Take wants to clinch.
Take rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
enabling Whyte to counter with a crisp jab.
Whyte catches Take with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Take throws the kick towards the body but Whyte avoids it.
Take moves into range and connects with a jab.
Take checks a leg kick.
Take lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
A good leg kick by Take.
Whyte takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Take looks to land a left hand but Whyte moved out of range nicely.
Take swings away with a body shot that misses
and Whyte counters with an inside leg kick.
Take throws a lazy head kick
and Whyte counters with a lovely shot to the body.
A solid leg kick lands there for Take.
Whyte keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Take.
Whyte is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Take lands with a thumping leg kick.
Whyte avoids a punch combination nicely.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Nice jab there from Take.
Take misses the shot to the body.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Take, right into the meat.
Whyte takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Whyte avoids the body shot from Take.
Whyte gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Take lands a right hook to the body.
Whyte takes one on the button.
Take stalks Whyte and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Whyte's face. Whyte staggers backwards, shaken.
Take is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Whyte had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Whyte cracks Take with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Take tries to score with a low kick but Whyte moves his leg out of the way.
Take has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
Whyte avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
A big right from Whyte misses.
Take throws out a counter right but Whyte avoids it with no problem.
Take scores with a crisp jab that stopped Whyte in his tracks.
Take feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Whytes jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Take scoring well with a low kick there.
Take staying out of range there.
Whyte is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

Whyte is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Take. Whyte shrugs it off though.
Whyte wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Take lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Whyte swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Whyte punishes Take's body with a nice straight punch.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Take throws a jab when Whyte was well out of range.
Whyte misses with a looping right.
Whyte misses with a head kick.
Take wants to slow Whyte down by chopping away at his legs.
Whyte swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Yamato Take dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Whyte avoids a kick to the body.
We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Take in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.
Take fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Whyte checks it well.
Take connects with a crisp jab.
Take looks to throw a body kick
and Whyte counters with a nice low kick that buckles Take's knee momentarily.
This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Whyte might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.

and Whyte counters with a crisp right hand that drops Take! Whyte lets Take back up to his feet, looking for a finish!


It looks like Yamato Take has been cut.
Take throws out a loose jab but Whyte uses good head movement to avoid it.
Take misses with a kick to the body.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Whyte throws a body kick that misses.
Whyte throws a jab but it's blocked by Take.
Take appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Whyte comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Whyte connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Take tries to work over Whyte's front leg with a kick but Whyte checks it.
Whyte steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Take.
Take lands a jab to Whyte's midsection.
Whyte moves out of range of the body kick.
Take darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Whyte will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body.
That kick from Take tenderised Whyte's leg. Whyte is trying to keep his angry face on.

Take ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
A slapping leg kick lands for Take.
Whyte blocks a low kick nicely.
Whyte swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
A shot to the liver by Take. Beautiful body shot.
Whyte with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Take to score with a decent uppercut.

Take throws a solid leg kick but Whyte takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Take.

and Whyte counters with a nice right hand that sends Take toppling to the canvas! Take scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Whyte finish him?!

and Whyte counters with a big left hand that crumples Take! He was out before he hit the floor! Brutal knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Benson Whyte!
A very excited looking Benson Whyte rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
Yamato Take was interviewed post fight and said 'Good fight buddy.'.
