Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Greg House (ranked 4789 p4p, 175 weight class) and JB Penn (ranked 4064 p4p, 156 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Greg House!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, JB Penn!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Richard Clark and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Penn enables House to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Penn manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
House forces his way into half guard.
Penn regains full guard. Nicely done.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Penn can do anything to dispel that myth.
House passes Penn's left leg - he's now in half guard.
House works his way into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

House bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Penn's guard.

House tries to free his leg and advance position but Penn is retaining full guard.

House works a leg free and moves into half guard.

House is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Penn is just riding it out for now. House eventually gives up the hold.
Penn manages to get to full guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Penn tries to land a sweep but no joy.
House passes Penn's left leg - he's now in half guard.
House trying to control from half guard but Penn is working away.

Penn has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Talu's Boxing Club. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

House is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Penn to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Penn shrugs it off.

House looking to sit in guard and control but Penn gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

House keeping moving, preventing Penn from controlling successfully.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Penn drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
House tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Penn wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
House manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Penn is keen to just control but House is a slippery customer.

House is looking for a sweep. Penn is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Penn connects with a nice short shot to House's temple.
Penn looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

House has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Penn is working away from the top position though.

JB Penn showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


House shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Penn sprawls well. Penn wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. House gets slowly back to his feet.

House swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Penn is now in House's guard. A big mistake from House there, giving up the dominant position!

Penn got a little sloppy there for a moment and House has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Penn has managed to get both his arms back between House's legs - danger averted.

JB Penn comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Penn has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
