Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Josey Wales (ranked 1443 p4p, 223 weight class) and Ed Wood (ranked 3194 p4p, 429 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Josey Wales!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ed Wood!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Jonathan Paton and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wood closes the distance but Wales moves to the side
and Wales counters with a lovely shot to the body.
We've been told by Wales's head coaches at RWB GYM that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Jab, jab by Wales - just one landing.


It looks like Ed Wood has been cut.
Wood with a nice cross.
Wood thows a left - swing and a miss!
Wales lands with a straight right. Wood didn't see that one coming.

Wood bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Wood has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Wood looks to score with a jab to the body but Wales is just out of range.

Wood shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

That has opened up Ed Wood's cut even more.
Wood tries to move into range but Wales moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Wood wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Wales looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Wood misses with a lunging right hand
enabling Wales to counter with a crisp jab.
Wood takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Wales lands the left hand.

Wales takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Wales works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Wales fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Wood on the side of the head.


Wood is rocked!
Wales throws an overhand right that lands on Wood's shoulder, as Wood tries to avoid the shot.
Wales tests Wood's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Wood is still on wobbly legs! Can Wales finish him?
Wood tries to clinch
and Wales counters with a lovely shot to the body.
A looping hook to the body misses from Wood. Wales does a little dance to reset his feet.
Wood seems to have recovered his senses.

Wood has taken the fight to the clinch.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Wales throws a big counter combination but Wood scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Wales cracks Wood with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Wales stuns Wood with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Wales drops Wood with a naaaaasty hook - Wood is in real trouble here! Wales dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Josey Wales!
