Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between DeJuan Carneiro (ranked 1889 p4p, 99 weight class) and Emilio Disi (ranked 1613 p4p, 81 weight class). Emilio Disi has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with DeJuan Carneiro's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, DeJuan Carneiro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Emilio Disi!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Donatello Bradman and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Disi tries to close the distance and clinch up but Carneiro swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Carneiro appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Disi leaves Carneiro with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
We've been hearing reports that Carneiro has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Carneiro moves out of range as Disi strikes.
Carneiro throws a nice looking combination but Disi bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Disi doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Carneiro ducks under a wild hook from Disi.
Carneiro ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Carneiro darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Carneiro wants to pass the guard but Disi is defending well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Carneiro throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Carneiro is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Disi is just riding it out for now. Carneiro eventually gives up the hold.

Disi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Carneiro. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Carneiro wants to work for an arm triangle but Disi is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Carneiro is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Disi defends it well.
Carneiro has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Carneiro works his foot free and advances to mount.
Disi is squirming around, avoiding Carneiro's attempts to control the action.
Carneiro is really struggling to control Disi but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Carneiro landing punches.
Disi bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Carneiro looking for a sweep. Not yet Carneiro, not yet.
Disi throws an elbow that misses. Carneiro uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Disi's guard. Nice move by Carneiro!

Carneiro controls from within his opponent's guard.
Carneiro is looking to work some ground and pound but Disi has wrist control.

Carneiro drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Disi manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Carneiro has Disi in his guard.

Carneiro looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Disi trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Carneiro seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Carneiro has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Carneiro manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Disi manages to get himself to full guard.

Carneiro throws a big elbow that misses.
Carneiro trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Carneiro missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Disi keeping moving, preventing Carneiro from controlling successfully.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Disi can do anything to dispel that myth.
Carneiro pushes down on Disi's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Carneiro is trying to work for a kimura but Disi is defending well.

Carneiro is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Disi sees it coming and defends easily.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Carneiro thows a huge punch but Disi dodges it nicely.
Disi is not content to let Carneiro control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

DeJuan Carneiro dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Disi stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Disi wants it to stay on the feet.
Carneiro is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Disi can do to turn this around?
Carneiro takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.


Carneiro is rocked!
Disi lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Carneiro circles away quickly and effectively.
Carneiro tries for a takedown but Disi sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Disi! But no joy.
Disi throws a right and a left that both miss.
Carneiro feinted with a counter takedown.

Disi feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Carneiro sprawling to the canvas! Carneiro rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Disi finish him?!
Oh Carneiro is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Carneiro shoots in for a double leg but Disi sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for DeJuan Carneiro. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Disi darts in and clinches Carneiro up against the cage.

Disi breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Disi stuffs the takedown.
Disi fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Carneiro attempts a counter takedown but Disi avoids it well and moves away.
Carneiro on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Disi misses the shot to the body.
Disi catches Carneiro with a right, a left, a right. It's raining punches and Carneiro forgot an umbrella! Another punch and he's down. This one is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Emilio Disi!
