Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Travis Dillon (ranked 612 p4p, 73 weight class) and Jake Woods (ranked 779 p4p, 89 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Travis Dillon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jake Woods!
The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Summer Carpenter and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Woods slips under a jab from Dillon.

Woods throws out a loose jab but Dillon uses good head movement to avoid it.
Dillon misses with a looping left.
Woods appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Dillon connects with a leg kick. Woods looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Dillon throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Woods looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Dillon looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Dillon throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Woods misses with a lunging right hand
and Dillon counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Donk. Dillon catches Woods right on the button with a cross.
Dillon looks for the body kick but Woods saw that one coming.

Travis Dillon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Woods lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Dillon circles away quickly and effectively.

Woods shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Woods moves out of range of the body kick from Dillon.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Dillon throws a nice looking combination but Woods bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

It looks like Jake Woods has been cut.
Dillon fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Dillon misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Woods.
Dillon throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Woods has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Woods there as he acknowledges the shot.
Dillon swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Dillon moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Dillon scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Woods looks to throw the jab but Dillon is out of range.

Woods with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Dillon to score with a decent uppercut.
Woods's coach down at Damage Inc. was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Woods's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Dillon misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
It seemed like Woods was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Dillon throws a sloppy head kick and Woods moves out of range easily.
A jab lands there for Woods.
Woods looks to score with a jab to the body but Dillon is just out of range.
A looping hook to the body misses from Woods. Dillon does a little dance to reset his feet.
Dillon connects with a single shot there.

Dillon lands a lovely overhand right.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Dillon.

and Woods counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Woods missing with a left hand there. Dillon was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Dillon is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.

It looked like Dillon was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Woods.
Woods swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Dillon counters with a stiff right hand.
Woods tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Dillon was well out of range. Poor timing from Woods.
Woods takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Dillon throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Woods sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Woods doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Dillon throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Dillon slips under a jab from Woods.
Woods misses the shot to the body.
Woods looks to throw the jab but Dillon is out of range.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Woods throws a shot from downtown. Dillon moves away and avoids it.
Woods slips under a jab from Dillon.
Dillon throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Woods counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Dillon tries to land a front kick but Woods steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Woods uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Dillon.
Dillon's corner calls for a 1-2. Dillon obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Dillon stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Woods drops Dillon with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Dillon! Woods dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jake Woods!
A less than humble Jake Woods misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
