PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Felix Inarritu (ranked 1146 p4p, 129 weight class) and Kento Kawamata (ranked 3229 p4p, 333 weight class). Inarritu comes to the ring accompanied by Vulcano. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yasuomi Hirokawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kawamata takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Kawamata lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Kawamata missing with a left hand there. Inarritu was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Inarritu has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Fist of Fury Training Center in the buildup to the fight.
Inarritu fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Kawamata on the side of the head.
Inarritu misses with an uppercut
and Kawamata connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
The fighters circling - Kawamata throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Inarritu lands a body shot.
Kawamata swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Inarritu counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Kawamata misses with a lunging right hand
and Inarritu counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Inarritu smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Inarritu lands a jab to the head.
Kawamata throws a lazy right hand but Inarritu sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Inarritu throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Kawamata let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Decent striking displayed by Inarritu there.
Inarritu fakes the leg kick and cracks Kawamata in the body.
The crowd cheers as Inarritu lands an impressive looking overhand right. Kawamata doesn't seem phased though.
Inarritu is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Kawamata misses with a left hand

and Inarritu counters with a nice right hand that sends Kawamata toppling to the canvas! Kawamata scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Inarritu finish him?!

Kawamata is rocked!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Inarritu ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kawamata moves away.
Kawamata swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Inarritu cracks Kawamata with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Kawamata tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Inarritu pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Kawamata is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Felix Inarritu!
