The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pierre closes the distance and clinches.
Pierre jumps guard but Croce stands there with Pierre around his waist. Pierre gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Pierre pulls Croce into guard.
Croce throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Pierre works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Croce wants to control from the top but Pierre keeps moving.
Croce trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Croce got a little sloppy there for a moment and Pierre has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Croce has managed to get both his arms back between Pierre's legs - danger averted.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Croce 's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Croce wants to pass the guard but Pierre is keeping the position.
Pierre has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

A relieved looking Wilky Pierre thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
