Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mark Pole!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
21 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Duke Newell!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Elvis Blanc and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pole throws a right hand that misses
letting Newell counter with a right hand.
Newell throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Pole stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Pole misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Newell.
Newell lands with an overhand left.
Newell scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Newell misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Newell swings for the body but Pole moves out of range.
Pole was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Pole ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Newell moves away.
Pole lands a jab to the nose.
Newell throws a shot to the body.
Pole loads up on a big right hand but Newell slips the punch.
Pole walks into a left hand.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Pole punishes Newell's body with a nice straight punch.
Newell thuds his right hand into Pole's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Newell fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Newell lands with a right hand.
Pole misses with a hook.
Newell throws out a powerful jab.
Pole fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Newell manages to avoid it.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Pole has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Pole there as he acknowledges the shot.
Newell lands a jab-cross combination.
Newell lunges at Pole with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Pole's hand.
Pole is rocked!
Newell sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Pole's defenses. It connects perfectly with Pole's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Duke Newell!
