West comes into the arena with Gojira - Shooting Star blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

With a record of 34 - 37 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Chris Severn!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Dean Styles and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

West is pushing down on Severn's leg trying to pass to half guard. Severn is fighting to maintain full guard but West has managed to sneak the leg through.
Severn has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. West is working away from the top position though.

A little jabbing left from Severn on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

West dives in for a single leg takedown but Severn sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

No luck with that takedown attempt from West.
Severn wants to counter the offense by West and move into the clinch position.
West keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

West throws a body punch but Severn moves out of range.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Billy West. That's going to take a lot out of him.

West thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Severn's head.
West is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Severn!

After winning the bout, Billy West thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
