Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Shahadath Karim!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Andrew Berry and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monroe keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Karim misses with a takedown attempt
and Monroe counters with a nice double leg into side control. Karim won't be happy with that.
Karim throws Monroe to one side and escapes!
Monroe fails with a takedown attempt.
Monroe will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Monroe drives through with a takedown into guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Monroe distracts Karim with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Karim is striking from the bottom but Monroe uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.
Karim is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Monroe throwing shots but Karim is blocking nicely.
Karim pushes Monroe off but Monroe dives into side control.
Karim is letting Monroe control him for a moment.
Monroe has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Karim tries to improve position but can't.
Karim looks winded!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
A control attempt from Karim but he's now mounted!
Monroe lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Karim hang on?
Monroe cracks Karim with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Monroe will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Monroe lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Karim hang on?

Karim is in all sorts of trouble here.
Karim tries to hold on but Monroe postures up.

Monroe lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Monroe has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Karim's face.
Monroe has hold of Karim's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Karim manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Monroe lands a couple of good shots and Karim has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
I would not like to be Karim right now.
Oooh a big shot gets through from Monroe. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!

Monroe just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Monroe has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Monroe lands shots from the back.
Karim is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Monroe's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Karim tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Monroe defends well and Karim ends up having to push Monroe into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Monroe stuffs the takedown.
Monroe shoots in for a takedown but Karim shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Karim looks to score with a jab to the body but Monroe is just out of range.
Karim thows a leg kick but Monroe checks it
and Monroe counters with a takedown into side control.
Karim tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Monroe scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Karim is looking for a way out.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Karim is breathing heavily.

Monroe has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Karim has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Monroe scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Karim is looking for a way out.
Karim just trying to survive but Monroe is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Monroe is looking to finish with some ground and pound!

Monroe keeps control of the position as Karim tries to break free.
Monroe trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Karim doesn't escape.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Karim trying to control the position but Monroe manages to sink in the hooks.

What can Karim do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Monroe seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Karim for as long as he can get away with.

Karim trying to control the hands but Monroe won't let him.
Monroe lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
Monroe is working for a rear naked choke. Karim is not defending it well and Monroe has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Karim refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Karim's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
