Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Denis Patrick (ranked 23704 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Evans (ranked 5383 p4p, 0 weight class). Denis Patrick is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Evans looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Patrick!
Evans wants to lay and pray for a moment but Patrick keeps working.
Patrick tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Evans wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Patrick manages to reverse the position and now he's in Evans's guard. Nice work there by Patrick.
Patrick makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Evans working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Patrick doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Patrick manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Evans can do anything to dispel that myth.

Patrick is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Evans's half guard.

Patrick drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Patrick jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Evans misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Patrick shoots in for a takedown but Evans shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Evans throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Evans fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Patrick gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Evans to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Patrick shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Evans as he jumps to the side.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Evans shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Patrick's guard.

Patrick has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Evans off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Ryan Evans seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Patrick gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

No luck for Patrick with that takedown attempt.
As Patrick backs off Evans throws a huge counter combo but Patrick manages to avoid it all.

Patrick shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Evans pinned against the cage. Evans gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Patrick half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Patrick tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Evans defends well and Patrick ends up having to push Evans into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Denis Patrick.
I think Patrick has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
