Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 wins, 1 losses and 0 draws, fighting out of New York, Baki Bandai!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, David Schapiro and Franklyn Lucas.



The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Peel decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Peel stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Bandai to get to his feet.
Bandai scores with a three punch combo!
Peel showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Bandai.
Bandai throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Peel changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bandai tries to avoid it but Peel manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bandai to the ground. Bandai escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Bandai connects with a body shot that sends Peel's belly button to the back.
Peel shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bandai but Bandai pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bandai avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Baki Bandai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bandai misses with the combination.
Peel throws a jab when Bandai was well out of range.
Peel has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Peel there as he acknowledges the shot.

Peel wants to clinch up but Bandai keeps it at a distance.
Peel shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bandai but Bandai pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Bandai throws a series of punches but Peel avoids them all with ease.

Peel tries to clinch up but Bandai circles away and keeps his distance.

Bandai throws a looping overhand right but Peel ducks down to avoid it.

Peel shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Bandai sprawls well. Bandai wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Peel gets slowly back to his feet.

Peel closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Bandai wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Bandai tries to break the clinch but Peel is controlling the position.

Peel breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Bandai misses with a double jab.
Bandai lands with a nice combination. Peel backs away looking to recover.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bandai throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
It looked like Peel was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Peel shoots in looking for a takedown but Bandai manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Peel's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Bandai looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Peel fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bandai avoids it really well and circles away.

Peel is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Peel tries to clinch up.

Peel closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Peel in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Peel works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Bandai being controlled for a moment.

Peel stands up.

Bandai throws a nice looking combination but Peel bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Peel went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Bandai lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Peel circles away quickly and effectively.
Peel wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Bandai enables Peel to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Bandai manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Peel is looking to pass into half guard but Bandai pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Bandai is in guard.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bandai wanted to stand there but Peel had control of the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Baki Bandai dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Peel pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Bandai back to the cage. Peel follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

It looks like Baki Bandai has been cut.
Bandai misses with a series of wild punches.
Peel swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Peel moves out of range as Bandai strikes.
Some wild striking there from Bandai.
A nice combination there by Bandai.
Bandai throws a series of punches but Peel avoids them all with ease.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bandai throws a right and a left that Peel avoids nicely.
Bandai lands a jab to the head.

Peel works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Danny Peel overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Bandai is breathing heavily.
Peel is taking a breather. Bandai says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Peel wants to free his trapped foot but Bandai is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Peel is trying to control the action in half guard but Bandai is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Peel stalling.
Peel throwing shots but Bandai is blocking nicely.
Peel performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Peel moves in looking to clinch but Bandai pushes him off.
Peel keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Bandai uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Peel has time to react.
Peel slips a jab and a cross from Bandai.

Bandai gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Peel to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Bandai utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Bandai working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Peel.

Peel is stalling in the full guard.
Peel seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Bandai for as long as he can get away with.
Peel throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Peel trying to control the position from guard on top but Bandai is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

A close second round but Baki Bandai will probably get the nod - 10:9.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Peel moves into the clinch.
Bandai is trying to break free.
Bandai wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Peel keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Bandai's efforts to push away.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Peel digs a right hand underneath Bandai's ribcage. Bandai let out a lung full of air as it connected.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Peel changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Bandai fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Sloppy strikes from Bandai. Those never looked like landing.
Bandai avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Peel throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Bandai was covering up waiting for the punch and Peel finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Bandai takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Peel has gone for a leg lock! Bandai slips out almost immediately though and dives into Peel's guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Peel is on top in guard.

Peel slips nicely into half guard.

Peel is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Bandai has managed to free his arm - good work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Still in half guard, Peel seems content to control.
Bandai is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Peel scores with a couple of nice shots.
Peel stalling.
Peel works his foot free and advances to mount.
Peel looking to finish Bandai with some ground and pound. This is bad for Bandai!

Bandai takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Peel controlling from the full mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Peel looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

Peel goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Bandai is on top in guard.
Peel wants to stand up but Bandai is controlling him.
Peel on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Peel tries to get out of the position.

Bandai tries to stand but Peel is controlling from the bottom.

Peel working for a triangle but Bandai defends it easily.
Peel working a defensive guard but Bandai passes into half guard.
Baki Bandai is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Peel makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Peel.
Bandai trying to control the position from guard on top but Peel is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Danny Peel showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Bandai has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
