Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Roy McDavid!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Ivan Kurochkin and Illya Tyunina.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thorn throws a lazy body kick
and McDavid counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
McDavid fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Thorn swings and misses with a hook to the body.

McDavid feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Thorn is looking to stand up but McDavid isn't so interested in that idea.
McDavid is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Thorn can't keep his opponent in guard - McDavid advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

McDavid is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Thorn sees it coming and defends easily.
McDavid wants to lay and pray for a moment but Thorn keeps working.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Thorn tries to get to full guard but McDavid has control of the leg.
McDavid prevents Thorn from standing back up.

McDavid is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Thorn defends it well.
Thorn is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

McDavid maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Thorn could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but McDavid has cracked it and Thorn is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by McDavid!

A relieved looking Roy McDavid thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
