PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wayne Brady (ranked 3638 p4p, 145 weight class) and Teodosio Turturro (ranked 1084 p4p, 46 weight class). Brady's entrance music is Whose Line - Best of Wayne Brady. A fine choice. Teodosio Turturro has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Wayne Brady!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Teodosio Turturro!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Sam Margolis and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Turturro closes the distance and clinches.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Brady working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.

Brady manages to break the clinch.
Nice shot by Brady.
Brady lands an overhand right.
Brady bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Turturro's head backwards.
Turturro has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
A swing and a miss from Brady.
Turturro drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Brady has managed to clinch.
Brady tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Turturro as Brady tries to tie him up.
Turturro tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Brady just stands there and leans against the cage.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Turturro is trying to pull guard but Brady turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Turturro gets control of Brady's arms and successfully pulls guard. Turturro will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Brady wants to control from the top but Turturro keeps moving.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Turturro is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Brady slows the pace down in half guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Brady seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Turturro does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Brady's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Turturro moves into the clinch successfully.
A left hand lands to the body for Brady.
Brady misses with a hook from the clinch.

Turturro jumps into guard, dragging Brady to the mat.
Brady passes Turturro's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Turturro regains full guard. Nicely done.
Brady stays in close to Turturro's body and controls the position.
Brady continues to stall.
Brady is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Turturro can do to turn this around?

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Brady is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Turturro is pulling down on Brady's head. It's preventing any offense from Brady, at least for the moment.

Turturro has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Brady can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Brady seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Teodosio Turturro has got the better of the ground game so far.

Turturro working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Brady doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Brady manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Turturro is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Brady is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Brady scores with a jab to the body.
Brady lands a nice shot to the body.

Turturro takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Brady closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Brady lands a body punch in the clinch.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Brady creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Turturro is trying to pull guard but Brady has him pressed against the cage.

Brady lands a shoulder strike.

Brady breaks the clinch.
Brady definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Brady cracks Turturro with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Brady has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Turturro to stand back up!
Turturro is still on wobbly legs! Can Brady finish him?
Turturro is breathing heavily.

Turturro forces Brady back against the cage and clinches.
Brady lands a nice uppercut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
A short body shot lands from Brady as the two fighters clinch.
Turturro jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Brady walks away with a smile on his face. Turturro gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Turturro ducks into an uppercut from Brady and that's knocked him out cold! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Wayne Brady!
Wayne Brady decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
