Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Manual Robles (ranked 25051 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hideki Tojo (ranked 5374 p4p, 0 weight class). Tojo has chosen Battotai as his entrance music. Hideki Tojo has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Robles steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Tojo.
Robles tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Tojo manages to circle out of the way.

Robles closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Tojo prevents Robles from breaking the clinch.
Robles is trying to break free.

Tojo pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

so Robles counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Tojo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Robles is looking to get back to full guard here but Tojo has managed to pass to side control instead.

Robles sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Robles is defending against the submission attempts here by Tojo.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Tojo works his way into side control.

Robles tries to buck Tojo off but Tojo is having none of it.

Tojo is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Robles knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Robles tries to counter by clinching up but Tojo breaks away and moves out of range.

and Robles counters with a shoot takedown. Tojo fights it but they end up in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tojo wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Tojo not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Tojo is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

It looks like Tojo is going to stand back up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Robles is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Tojo jumps into side control!
Tojo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Robles keeps working.
Tojo scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Robles to see if he's OK.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Tojo shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Robles's guard.
Robles wants to sweep here but Tojo controlling him for the moment.

Robles is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Tojo escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Tojo manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Robles breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Tojo scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Robles really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Tojo lands a nice short elbow.

Tojo has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
