Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Klaus Chugman (ranked 428 p4p, 16 weight class) and Derek Vinyard (ranked 947 p4p, 48 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Klaus Chugman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Derek Vinyard!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vinyard scores with a nice head shot.
Nice defenses there by Chugman.

Derek Vinyard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Chugman attempts a counter takedown but Vinyard avoids it well and moves away.

Chugman working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Vinyard doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Vinyard manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
I've been told that Vinyard has been drilling his wrestling of late, which has already helped him take this fight to the mat. Let's see how much of an impact it has on the outcome of the ground game.

We've been hearing good reports from Chugman's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Vinyard has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Chugman is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Chugman is trying to drag Vinyard to the mat but Vinyard just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Vinyard tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Chugman has Vinyard pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Vinyard manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Chugman drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Vinyard manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Chugman has Vinyard in his guard.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Vinyard must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

I would just about give that final round to Derek Vinyard.
I've got Vinyard winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
