Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Baker (ranked 5303 p4p, 0 weight class) and Terry Josefi (ranked 7113 p4p, 0 weight class). Josefi is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by I beat my dick. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Daniel Baker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Terry Josefi!
The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Winston Howard and Chris Dean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Josefi shoots in looking for a takedown. Baker tries to sprawl out of it but Josefi keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Baker manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Baker shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Baker showed some decent athleticism there.
Ground and pound from Baker.
Baker slows the pace down in half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Baker throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Baker trying to mount his opponent but Josefi defends it.
Josefi wants to improve his position but Baker is controlling well.
Baker is looking to take a break and control but Josefi is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Josefi is looking to escape.

Josefi regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Baker.

Baker drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Josefi dives on top into guard.

Baker looking for a guillotine here but Josefi defends easily.

Josefi trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Baker manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Baker trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Baker chips away with some ground and pound.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Josefi can do anything to dispel that myth.
Baker wants to control from the top but Josefi keeps moving.
Josefi is trying to keep Baker in close.
Josefi utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Baker scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Baker tries to stand but Josefi is controlling from the bottom.
Josefi trying to keep a closed guard but Baker is proving a slippery customer.
Baker throws a big elbow that misses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Baker wants to get up but he can't break Josefi's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Josefi is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Baker wants to get up but he can't break Josefi's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Josefi counters with a three punch combo that has Baker backing up. Baker nods at Josefi to acknowledge the strikes.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Josefi has Baker pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Josefi pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Baker tumbling to the mat - Josefi dives into Baker's guard.

Josefi has gone for a leg lock! Baker slips out almost immediately though and dives into Josefi's guard.

Baker tries to free his leg and advance position but Josefi is retaining full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Baker with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Baker throws a strike but Josefi rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Connects with an elbow from the bottom, proving to the judges that he's still active off his back.

Baker has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Josefi should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Baker has tightened it up now! Josefi should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
