Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Abbas Kurlov (ranked 5184 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nigel Fury (ranked 24626 p4p, 0 weight class). Kurlov comes to the cage accompanied by Chechen Mob Song. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Ivan Kurochkin and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fury closes the distance and pushes Kurlov back into the cage.

Kurlov might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fury is working an open guard so Kurlov takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kurlov accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kurlov postures up.
Fury is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Kurlov postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Kurlov drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Fury manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Kurlov has Fury in his guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Fury wants to control from the top but Kurlov keeps moving.

Fury is fighting to break Kurlov's control of his arms but Kurlov is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Kurlov holds on and takes a little breather.
Kurlov has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Fury loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Fury doesn't manage to clinch there - Kurlov circles away.
Kurlov tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Fury manages to circle out of the way.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Abbas Kurlov will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Fury has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Kurlov is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Fury stands up from Kurlov's guard - Fury perhaps looking for a knockout.
Fury keeps the fight on the outside.
Kurlov shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Fury pinned against the cage. Fury gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Kurlov darts in looking for a takedown but Fury gets double underhooks and turns Kurlov into the cage.

Fury has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Kurlov shoots in looking for a takedown. Fury tries to sprawl out of it but Kurlov keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Fury manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Fury wants to take the fight to the mat but Kurlov manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

As Kurlov backs off Fury throws a huge counter combo but Kurlov manages to avoid it all.
Fury fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kurlov avoids it really well and circles away.
Kurlov drops down looking for a counter takedown but Fury sprawls and moves away.
Fury tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Kurlov manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Fury lands a nice shot to the body.
Fury tries to close the distance and clinch but Kurlov swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Kurlov changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Fury tries to avoid it but Kurlov manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Fury to the ground. Fury escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nigel Fury showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Kurlov drops back, looking for a kneebar! Fury looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Fury looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Fury!


Fury thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Kurlov tries to buck Fury off but Fury is having none of it.
Kurlov knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Fury on the ground.
Fury misses with the ground and pound.
Kurlov is looking for a sweep.
Kurlov is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Fury is controlling him well.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Fury misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Kurlov tries to buck Fury off but Fury is having none of it.
Kurlov prevents Fury from moving into mount.
Kurlov is trying to control Fury's posture but Fury avoids it.
The strikes coming from Fury are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Fury decides to stand up, so the ref orders Kurlov to his feet.

Fury has Kurlov up against the cage in a clinch.
Kurlov fails to pull guard.

Fury escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kurlov displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Fury.
Fury plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Fury goes for a double leg but Kurlov avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Kurlov continues to drive forward.
Nice takedown defense from Fury. No joy for Kurlov on that attempt.

Fury drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Kurlov kicks Fury off and gets to his feet.
Fury takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Fury shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kurlov sprawls well. Kurlov wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Fury gets slowly back to his feet.

Kurlov is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Kurlov is in close to Fury's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Nigel Fury comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Fury has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
