Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Van Clark!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Shawn MacGuire!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Chris Edwards and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

MacGuire gets caught napping as Clark dives in and scores a takedown. MacGuire manages to retain guard.
Clark might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Clark wants to stand but MacGuire is controlling his posture from full guard.
MacGuire wants to sweep here but Clark controlling him for the moment.

Clark gets to his feet - MacGuire follows without any prompting.
Clark really is a fat lump.

MacGuire scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Clark kicks off MacGuire and gets to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

MacGuire looking to score a takedown here. Clark is defending well but MacGuire drives through and ends up in Clark's guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as MacGuire accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

MacGuire wants to stand and escape but instead Clark has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Clark wants to stand but MacGuire has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Clark stands and steps away. MacGuire gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

MacGuire instigates a clinch.

MacGuire is trying to trip Clark. He has hold of a leg but Clark is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. MacGuire persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Clark is looking to stand up but MacGuire isn't so interested in that idea.

Clark is pulling down on MacGuire's head to control his posture.
MacGuire preventing the sweep.
MacGuire tries to free his leg and advance position but Clark is retaining full guard.

Clark working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. MacGuire doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. MacGuire manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Clark has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes MacGuire off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Clark is on the wrong end of a nice combination from MacGuire.

Clark shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Clark escapes and gets back to his feet.

Clark feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Clark stands up and waves to MacGuire to follow him.

Clark shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. MacGuire manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

MacGuire throws his legs up looking for a submission but Clark uses it to pass to side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

MacGuire looking to score a takedown here. Clark is defending well but MacGuire drives through and ends up in Clark's guard.
MacGuire really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Clark. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Clark pulls MacGuire in close to his closed guard and prevents MacGuire from doing any damage or advancing position.
MacGuire wants to stand and escape but instead Clark has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
MacGuire is wriggling around but Clark manages to pass to half guard.

Van Clark overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Clark lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

MacGuire wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Clark manages to pass to side control.

Clark is looking for a kimura but MacGuire is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Clark to get the leverage.

Clark stands up out of the half guard.
Clark is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that MacGuire can do to turn this around?

MacGuire closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Clark quickly recovers to half guard.

Clark kicks MacGuire off and gets back to his feet.
MacGuire is breathing heavily.

MacGuire gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

MacGuire gets control of Clark's arms and successfully pulls guard. MacGuire will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Clark bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in MacGuire's guard.

Clark decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on MacGuire, up you get!

Clark has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics MacGuire uses from the top position.

That's time! Back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


An inside leg kick from MacGuire misses.

MacGuire closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Clark looks like he's trying to stand up.
Clark manages to get to full guard.
Clark wants to get back to his feet but MacGuire is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

MacGuire changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Clark looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

MacGuire is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Clark knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
MacGuire takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
MacGuire trying to control the action but Clark is working from the bottom.

MacGuire postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Clark regains half guard.

Clark works his way to full guard. Good work.

MacGuire tries to stand but Clark is controlling from the bottom.
Clark is controlling MacGuire's posture.
Clark looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Clark manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. MacGuire manages to get himself to full guard.

MacGuire is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Clark stands and steps away. MacGuire gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Clark fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

MacGuire throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Clark was covering up waiting for the punch and MacGuire finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Clark pulls MacGuire in to control the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Shawn MacGuire has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Van Clark is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Shawn MacGuire.
I think Clark has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
