Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Iago Flores!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, John Saints!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Richard Clark and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saints throws a nice inside leg kick.
Flores tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Saints manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Flores tries to clinch up
and Saints counters with a shoot takedown. Flores fights it but they end up in guard.
Flores is looking to stand back up but Saints counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Flores.
Saints content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Saints stands up out of the half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Flores closes the distance and clinches.
Saints has hold of one of Flores's legs. Flores is fighting the takedown attempt but Saints gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Saints engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Saints trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Saints controls from within his opponent's guard.
Saints must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Saints stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Flores swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Saints stands up and waves to Flores to follow him.
Saints closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Flores is looking for a sweep.
Flores is trying to escape the position but Saints is controlling the position.
Flores tries to buck Saints off but Saints is having none of it.
Saints controls the position from side control.
Flores tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Saints wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Saints lands a nice forearm strike.
Flores is trying to get back to his feet.
Flores is trying to escape the position but Saints is controlling the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Flores tries to bench press Saints off him but Saints keeps the position.
Saints is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Flores knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Saints looks winded!
Flores is trying to improve his position.
Saints moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Flores tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Saints tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Saints has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Flores is looking for a sweep.
Flores wants to control but Saints postures up.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Flores is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Saints is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Saints closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Saints in side control, just content to control the action for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Saints dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Saints fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Flores, pushing him back against the cage.
Flores jumps guard but Saints stands there with Flores around his waist. Flores gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Saints lands a takedown into guard.
Saints sitting in guard, not really doing much.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Flores controls Saints momentarily but Saints frees himself.
Saints pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Flores is keeping the position for now.

Saints won't allow Flores to get back to his feet.
Flores wants to sweep here but Saints controlling him for the moment.
Saints is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Saints gets a clinch.
Saints pulls Flores into guard.
Flores won't allow Saints to sweep him here.
Saints is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Flores postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Flores looking to sit in guard and control but Saints gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Flores is trying to keep Saints in close.
Flores pushes a forearm under Saints's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Saints is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
