Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rocky Baxter (ranked 3102 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shawn Griffin (ranked 2620 p4p, 0 weight class). Baxter comes into the arena with The Original Anthem blaring out of the sound system. Griffin has chosen Medicate - Flaw as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

10 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shawn Griffin!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baxter throws a head kick that half lands.
It looks like Shawn Griffin has been cut.
Griffin scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Griffin working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Baxter is trying to improve his position.
Sloppy strikes there by Griffin.
Baxter takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Griffin throws a strike aimed at the side of Baxter 's head but Baxter avoids it well.

Baxter is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Pugilists and Grapplers Gym, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Griffin scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Baxter is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Griffin can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Shawn Griffin!
A relieved looking Shawn Griffin thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
