Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Behe Reguigui (ranked 5413 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Erol (ranked 7554 p4p, 0 weight class). Behe Reguigui has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Behe Reguigui!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Erol!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Columbo Gatti and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Reguigui looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Erol is looking to control Reguigui's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Erol avoid being mounted?
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Reguigui's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Erol trying to hold on to Reguigui's head to control him but Reguigui postures up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Reguigui forces Erol back against the cage and clinches.
Erol on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Reguigui fails to pull guard.

Reguigui escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Reguigui is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Erol is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Erol is trying to get back to half guard.
Reguigui will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

We've been informed that Erol has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

and Reguigui counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Reguigui shoots in for a takedown but Erol shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Erol motions for Reguigui to come forward. Erol throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Erol walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Reguigui checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Despite the aggression on Erol's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Erol works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Reguigui tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Erol smiles and moves away.

Reguigui tries to close the distance and clinch but Erol swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Reguigui throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Erol tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Reguigui is in Erol's guard.
Reguigui seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Reguigui sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Erol's guard.
Erol is looking for a sweep. Reguigui is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Erol is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Reguigui working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Reguigui got a little sloppy there for a moment and Erol has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Reguigui has managed to get both his arms back between Erol's legs - danger averted.
