PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Isaac Frye (ranked 1950 p4p, 267 weight class) and Alcibiades Cleinias (ranked 3473 p4p, 421 weight class). Frye comes to the cage accompanied by Bombshell. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cleinias moves out of range as Frye throws a body kick.
Frye tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Cleinias is able to avoid easily.
Cleinias missing with a left hand there. Frye was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Cleinias misses with a series of wild punches.
Cleinias lands a slapping body shot.
Cleinias throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Frye looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Cleinias slips under a jab from Frye.
Frye throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Cleinias looks to land a left hand but Frye moved out of range nicely.

It looks like Alcibiades Cleinias has been cut.
Frye cracks Cleinias with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Cleinias will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Frye misses with an uppercut. Cleinias saw that one coming.

Frye feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Cleinias sprawling to the canvas! Cleinias rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Frye finish him?!

Frye throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Cleinias sees it coming and avoids it easily.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Cleinias has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
