Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Frankie Patterson (ranked 5032 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Thompson (ranked 6218 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Thompson 's choice of entrance music: In the hall of the mountain king trap remix. On his way into the cage it seems that Frankie Patterson has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Frankie Patterson seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Patterson closes the distance and pushes Thompson back into the cage.

Thompson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Thompson throws a body shot but no joy.
Patterson tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Thompson manages to circle out of the way.
Patterson fails with an attempt to clinch.

Patterson pulls Thompson into guard.

Patterson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Thompson is aware though and is defending well.
Thompson wanted to stand there but Patterson had control of the position.
Patterson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Thompson lands a big shot there that rocks Patterson but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Patterson enables Thompson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Patterson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Well Thompson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
