Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Strategos Themistokles (ranked 2315 p4p, 337 weight class) and Tafari Mengestu (ranked 1914 p4p, 290 weight class). Mengestu has chosen Stephen Marley ft. Capleton, Sizzla - Rock Stone as his entrance music. Strategos Themistokles has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Themistokles throws a right hand that Mengestu ducks under and follows up with a left that Mengestu also avoids with ease.
Mengestu misses with a head kick.
Mengestu throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Mengestu misses with a kick to the body.
Mengestu has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Mengestu looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Themistokles scores with the left hand. Mengestu knows he should have avoided that one.
Mengestu checks a leg kick.
A nice side step and Mengestu releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Themistokles moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Themistokles throws a low kick but it's checked well by Mengestu.
Mengestu uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Themistokles has time to react.

Mengestu throws the left hand but Themistokles avoids the punch easily.

Themistokles does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Mengestu scores with the left hand. Themistokles knows he should have avoided that one.
Themistokles swings away with a leg kick that misses.
A lazy left from Mengestu finds it's target.
Mengestu connects with a looping right hand.
Themistokles swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Mengestu stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Themistokles.
Mengestu cracks a nice hook into Themistokles's ribs.
Themistokles throws a lazy right hand but Mengestu sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Mengestu looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Themistokles lands a right hook to the body.
Themistokles moves into range and connects with a jab.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Themistokles throws a hook but Mengestu blocks it.

Mengestu lands a big head kick that sends Themistokles tumbling to the mat! Mengestu takes a step backwards and waves Themistokles back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Themistokles fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Mengestu manages to avoid it.
Themistokles uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Mengestu.
Mengestu listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.

and Mengestu counters with a big right hand! Oh Themistokles is in trouble here! Mengestu follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!
