PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mickey Sapolu (ranked 3977 p4p, 482 weight class) and Kamden Jackson (ranked 1602 p4p, 248 weight class). Jackson has chosen Creed II- Eye of the Tiger as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mickey Sapolu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kamden Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Marco Blurström and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson cracks Sapolu with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.


It looks like Mickey Sapolu has been cut.
Jackson misses with a double jab
and Sapolu counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Jackson throws out a loose jab but Sapolu uses good head movement to avoid it.
Sapolu is looking to counter punch.
Jackson looks to throw a body kick
and Sapolu connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Jackson throws a combination that misses

and Sapolu counters by moving into the clinch.

Sapolu breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Jackson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Sapolu is looking for a sweep. Jackson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Jackson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Sapolu doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Jackson.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Jackson is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Jackson is trying to work for a kimura but Sapolu is defending well.

Jackson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Sapolu doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Jackson.
Jackson is pressing down on Sapolu's thigh, looking to free his foot. Sapolu is holding on for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Sapolu wants to improve his position but Jackson is controlling well.
Jackson wants to free his trapped foot but Sapolu is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Jackson is working for a kimura but Sapolu is defending it quite comfortably.
Jackson tries to pass to full mount but Sapolu defends it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sapolu is in trouble now - Jackson has advanced to mount!
Sapolu looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Jackson takes Sapolu's back.
Jackson gets his hands free as Sapolu looks to control.
Jackson trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Sapolu doesn't escape.
Jackson looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Jackson looking to finish the fight with a rear naked choke. Sapolu is controlling Jackson 's left arm and he spins nicely into guard.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Jackson looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Sapolu passes into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kamden Jackson dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Mickey Sapolu's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Jackson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sapolu as he avoids it easily.
Mickey Sapolu is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Jackson fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
It looked like Sapolu was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Jackson tries for a takedown but Sapolu circles away easily
and Sapolu cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Mickey Sapolu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kamden Jackson.
Jackson misses with a straight left.
Jackson misses with a lunging right hand
and Sapolu counters with a one-two to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nice shot lands for Jackson.
Jackson throws a jab but it's blocked by Sapolu.
Jackson is looking to chop away at Sapolu's legs.
It looked like Sapolu was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Jackson with a poor takedown
and Sapolu counters with a left and a right that stings Jackson.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jackson shoots in for a takedown but Sapolu shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
An attempted straight right counter from Sapolu misses the target.
Jackson misses with a takedown
enabling Sapolu to counter with a crisp jab.


Jackson is rocked!
Mickey Sapolu is winning the standup battle so far.
Jackson swings widly with a right hand
and Sapolu counters with a left and a right... And another left! Jackson is down! He's done! The ref dives in to save him and that's the end of the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mickey Sapolu!
Kamden Jackson was interviewed post fight and said 'The loss is tough, but I will come back stronger!'.
