Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Charles Carlyle (ranked 15731 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keon Fazeli (ranked 7379 p4p, 537 weight class). Fazeli is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Watching Airplanes. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Keon Fazeli!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Bruno Hogan and Hugh Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fazeli misses with a takedown attempt
and Carlyle counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Carlyle throws a shot to the body.
Fazeli tries for a takedown but Carlyle circles away easily
and Carlyle counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Carlyle stuffs the takedown attempt from Fazeli. Fazeli gets slowly back to his feet.
Charles Carlyle has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Keon Fazeli.

enabling Carlyle to counter with a crisp jab.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Fazeli.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Carlyle fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Carlyle rushes Fazeli and presses him up against the cage.
Carlyle lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Carlyle lands a good knee to the midsection. Fazeli won't want to take too many of those.
Carlyle digs a right hand into Fazeli's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Fazeli's gas tank.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Carlyle lands with a short shot to the head.
A body shot lands from Carlyle.

Carlyle lands a left hand that snaps the head of Fazeli backwards.

Carlyle has Fazeli pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Carlyle pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Fazeli tumbling to the mat - Carlyle dives into Fazeli's guard.

Fazeli can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Carlyle controls the pace.
Carlyle passes Fazeli's left leg - he's now in half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Carlyle is working for a kimura but Fazeli is defending it quite comfortably.
Carlyle is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Carlyle has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Fazeli is controlling Carlyle's position as best he can from this difficult position.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Carlyle lands a nice short elbow.

Carlyle is looking for a kimura but Fazeli is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Carlyle to get the leverage.

Carlyle is working for a submission of some sort.
Carlyle throwing shots but Fazeli is blocking nicely.
Carlyle is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Fazeli is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Carlyle scores with a couple of nice shots.
Fazeli is in trouble now - Carlyle has advanced to mount!
We've been informed that Fazeli has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Fazeli is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.

Carlyle looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Carlyle is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Carlyle extends the arm and Fazeli is forced to tap!
