The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Thompson throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.

O Sullivan thuds his right hand into Thompson's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Thompson takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
O Sullivan uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

O Sullivan lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Thompson at a distance.
Thompson takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

O Sullivan wants to counter with a clinch but Thompson pushes him away.
O Sullivan clobbers Thompson with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
O Sullivan is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Thompson had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Thompson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but O Sullivan was well out of range. Poor timing from Thompson.

O Sullivan has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Thompson doesn't defend quickly enough and O Sullivan has managed to lock this one up! Can Thompson escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to O Sullivan on a fantastic submission victory.
