The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brunswick walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Gillespie has managed to clinch.
Gillespie wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Brunswick has him pressed against the cage.
Brunswick is looking for a takedown.
Brunswick pulls Gillespie into guard.
Brunswick tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Brunswick working for a triangle but Gillespie defends it easily.
Gillespie is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gillespie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Brunswick swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Brunswick wants to sweep here but Gillespie controlling him for the moment.

Gillespie really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Brunswick. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Gillespie wants to control from the top but Brunswick keeps moving.
Brunswick is looking for a triangle but Gillespie pushes his legs off easily.
Gillespie would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Brunswick looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gillespie is one step ahead there.

Brunswick is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Gillespie has a hand on Brunswick's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Brunswick takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
Brunswick looking to secure an arm triangle but Gillespie defends it well.
Brunswick wants to control the pace but Gillespie is squirming around nicely.
