The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Holol moves into the clinch successfully.

Holol gets control of Banuelos's arms and successfully pulls guard. Holol will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Banuelos is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Banuelos is pushing down on Holol's leg trying to pass to half guard. Holol is fighting to maintain full guard but Banuelos has managed to sneak the leg through.

Banuelos seems to be working for a kimura but Holol defends the submission attempt.
Holol keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Banuelos thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Banuelos is looking for a kimura but Holol is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Banuelos to get the leverage.

Banuelos passes the guard and advances to mount!

Holol wants to hold on but Banuelos pushes him away.
Holol wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Banuelos.
Banuelos thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.

Banuelos fails to move to back control.

Banuelos is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Holol can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Banuelos misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Banuelos jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Holol manages to avoid the submission attempt.
The ground and pound from Banuelos seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Holol is pushing Banuelos's head away, looking to escape. Banuelos manages to hold on to the position though.
Banuelos tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

Banuelos is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Holol is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Banuelos sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Holol is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Banuelos is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Holol looks calm but he's in trouble here. Banuelos gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Holol is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Banuelos lets go of the hold and Holol can pop his arm back in it's socket.
