Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Arn Anderson (ranked 689 p4p, 39 weight class) and Bwana Mkubwa (ranked 864 p4p, 48 weight class). Anderson comes to the cage accompanied by Thunderstruck-by ACDC. Mkubwa has chosen You're Going Down as his entrance music. This should be fireworks!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Arn Anderson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bwana Mkubwa!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Steve Erwin and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anderson throws a lazy right hand but Mkubwa sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Bwana Mkubwa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mkubwa jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Anderson feinted with a counter takedown.
Anderson has been working on his boxing with his coaches at BIGISLAND BIGGUNS WARRIOR TRAINING in the buildup to the fight.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Anderson is defended easily by Mkubwa.

Anderson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Mkubwa!
Anderson throws a strike aimed at the side of Mkubwa's head but Mkubwa avoids it well.
Mkubwa is trying to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mkubwa is looking for a sweep. Anderson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Mkubwa is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Anderson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Anderson's back!
Mkubwa is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Let's hope that Mkubwa has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

You can see the frustration on Anderson's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Anderson is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Anderson slips under a jab from Mkubwa.
Anderson tries to counter with a takedown but Mkubwa is quick to defend against it.
A big left from Anderson misses.
Mkubwa fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Anderson.
Mkubwa throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Anderson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
enabling Mkubwa to counter with a crisp jab.
Anderson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mkubwa is fending him off so far but Anderson persists. Nope, Mkubwa circles away and we're back to standing.
Mkubwa slips under a jab.
And Mkubwa responds with a good body kick, but Anderson manages to step out the way in time.
Mkubwa connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Mkubwa enables Anderson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Mkubwa manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Anderson content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Anderson won't allow Mkubwa to sweep him here.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mkubwa can do anything to dispel that myth.

Mkubwa manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Anderson manages to get himself to full guard.

Mkubwa has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Mkubwa is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Anderson is looking for a triangle but Mkubwa pushes his legs off easily.

Bwana Mkubwa has got the better of the ground game so far.
Mkubwa trying to control the position from guard on top but Anderson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Mkubwa got a little sloppy there for a moment and Anderson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mkubwa has managed to get both his arms back between Anderson's legs - danger averted.

Anderson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Anderson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mkubwa can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Mkubwa ducks under a wild hook from Anderson.
Mkubwa swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Bwana Mkubwa is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Anderson ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Mkubwa thuds a left hand into Anderson's body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Anderson shoots in for a takedown but Mkubwa shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Mkubwa rushes Anderson and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Anderson is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. Mkubwa piles on the pressure and Anderson crumples to the floor! This one is all over!

In defeat, Arn Anderson stepped up to the mic, saying 'I didn't snap into a slim jim.....and it was my downfall.....I'LL BE BACK FOR THAT BELT!!'.
