PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jamison Cassidy (ranked 758 p4p, 114 weight class) and Pablo Juan (ranked 613 p4p, 96 weight class). Cassidy comes to the cage accompanied by Space Oddity by David Bowie. Pablo Juan will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cassidy changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Juan looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Juan explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Juan will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Juan enables Cassidy to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Juan manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Cassidy tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Cassidy has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Juan tries to bench press Cassidy off him but Cassidy keeps the position.
Cassidy is looking to take a break and control but Juan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Juan throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Cassidy.
Cassidy tries to counter with a takedown but Juan is quick to defend against it.

Cassidy misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Juan throws a hook to the side of Cassidy's head but Cassidy sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Juan throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Juan takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Juan counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Cassidy tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Juan was well out of range. Poor timing from Cassidy.

Cassidy closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Juan to the mat! Juan manages to get full guard.

Cassidy got a little sloppy there for a moment and Juan has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Cassidy has managed to get both his arms back between Juan's legs - danger averted.

Juan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cassidy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
