Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ricardo Alvarez (ranked 4053 p4p, 319 weight class) and Tyson Avery (ranked 4841 p4p, 352 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ricardo Alvarez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Tyson Avery!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Cecil Peabody and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Avery lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Alvarez circles away quickly and effectively.
Alvarez throws a jab but it's blocked by Avery.
Avery drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Alvarez defends it well.
Alvarez looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Avery is fending him off so far but Alvarez persists. Nope, Avery circles away and we're back to standing.
Alvarez shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Avery pinned against the cage. Avery gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Alvarez closes the distance and clinches up with Avery, looking for a takedown. Alvarez pushes Avery against the cage but Avery circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Alvarez got a little sloppy there for a moment and Avery has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Alvarez has managed to get both his arms back between Avery's legs - danger averted.

Alvarez drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Avery manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Alvarez has Avery in his guard.

Alvarez drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Alvarez jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Well Avery has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
