Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Sheedy (ranked 179 p4p, 22 weight class) and Kendo Hirigushi (ranked 374 p4p, 45 weight class). Kevin Sheedy had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kevin Sheedy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Kendo Hirigushi!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Aleksandr Martynov and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sheedy misses with a right hand
and Hirigushi counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Sheedy misses with a shot to the body
and Hirigushi counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Sheedy with a jab.
Sheedy swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Hirigushi is looking for the big counter here.
Sheedy looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Sheedy moves in looking to clinch but Hirigushi pushes him off.
Hirigushi misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Sheedy is looking to counter punch.
Sheedy paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Sheedy lands a really nice looking cross but Hirigushi seems unphased.

Sheedy closes the distance and clinches.

Hirigushi's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Sheedy throws the left hand but Hirigushi avoids the punch easily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hirigushi staying out of range there.
Sheedy connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.


Hirigushi is rocked!
Some wild striking there from Sheedy.
Hirigushi is still on wobbly legs! Can Sheedy finish him?

Sheedy misses with a hook to the body
and Hirigushi counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Hirigushi seems to have recovered his senses.
Sheedy lands a nice shot that snaps Hirigushi's head back.
Hirigushi throws a jab when Sheedy was well out of range.
Sheedy misses with an uppercut
enabling Hirigushi to counter with a crisp jab.
Sheedy is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Sheedy looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Sheedy wants to clinch
and Hirigushi cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Sheedy connects with the punch.

Sheedy throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Hirigushi unleashes a big counter combination but Sheedy bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Sheedy throws a lazy uppercut
and Hirigushi counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Sheedy throws a left and a right that both miss
and Hirigushi counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sloppy strikes from Sheedy. Those never looked like landing.
Hirigushi unleashes a big counter combination but Sheedy bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Sheedy tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hirigushi paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Sheedy fails to land with a series of punches.
Hirigushi swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Sheedy throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Hirigushi connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.


Sheedy is rocked!
Hirigushi takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Hirigushi closes the distance and pushes Sheedy back into the cage.
Sheedy misses with a short punch on the inside.
Sheedy blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Sheedy scores with a shot to the side of Hirigushi's head.
Sheedy blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Hirigushi misses with the head strike.
Hirigushi misses with a short punch on the inside.

Hirigushi escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Sheedy misses with a right hand
and Hirigushi counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Oh Sheedy is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Sheedy clinches up against the cage.
Sheedy seems to have got his legs back now.
Hirigushi swings wildly with an uppercut but Sheedy uses good head movement to avoid it.

Hirigushi manages to break the clinch.
Sheedy rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Hirigushi counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Hirigushi avoids a punch combination nicely.
As Sheedy backs off Hirigushi throws a huge counter combo but Sheedy manages to avoid it all.
Sheedy lands a nice looking body shot.
Sheedy throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Hirigushi closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Sheedy is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.

Hirigushi lands with a precision combination! Left, right, uppercut and Sheedy falls flat on his face, eyes wide open but he's out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Kendo Hirigushi!
Kendo Hirigushi tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
