Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Trenton Sloan (ranked 6554 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus De Lind (ranked 4629 p4p, 0 weight class). Marcus De Lind will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

De Lind closes the distance and clinches.

De Lind pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Sloan misses with a wild combination.
De Lind wants to clinch
and Sloan cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Sloan circles away from the clinch attempt.
De Lind blocks a head kick by Sloan.

De Lind has closed the distance and engaged Sloan in a clinch.

Sloan pulls De Lind into guard.
Sloan keeping moving, preventing De Lind from controlling successfully.

Sloan looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sloan is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Sloan connects with a nice short shot to De Lind's temple.

That's one minute gone in the round.
De Lind wants to get back to his feet.
De Lind is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Sloan scores with a couple of nice shots.
Sloan throwing shots but De Lind is blocking nicely.
Sloan landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Sloan really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
De Lind on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
De Lind wants to control but Sloan is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Sloan wants to take a breather but De Lind is having none of it.

Sloan seems to be looking for submissions.
Sloan lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Sloan thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed De Lind's head.
De Lind has hold of Sloan's hands but Sloan slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Sloan escapes and gets back to his feet.
De Lind tries to score a power double leg takedown but Sloan sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten De Lind somewhat.
Sloan attempts a counter takedown but De Lind avoids it well and moves away.
De Lind looks winded!
Sloan throws a series of punches but De Lind moves out of range.

De Lind clinches up with Sloan and pushes him back against the cage.
De Lind creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

Sloan manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Sloan controlling the position.
Sloan is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
De Lind landing some decent shots from guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Sloan pushes a forearm under De Lind's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, De Lind is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
