Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Blue Cup!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 16 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jan Kriel!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, William Peck and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cup misses with a hook.
Kriel looks to throw the jab but Cup is out of range.
Cup fails to land with a series of punches.

Cup closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cup tries to move to mount but Kriel blocks the move with his legs.
Kriel is looking to reverse the position.

Cup tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
You can see the frustration on Kriel's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cup tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Cup has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Kriel tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Cup goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Kriel rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Cup's guard! Nice work there by Kriel!
Cup tries to strike from the bottom.
Kriel must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Cup keeping moving, preventing Kriel from controlling successfully.

Cup has his foot on Kriel's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kriel works his way back into a safe position though.

Kriel slows the pace down in half guard.
Cup is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Rabid Dog that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
Cup is in trouble now - Kriel has advanced to mount!

Kriel prevents Cup from getting the reversal.
Kriel controlling his opponent.
Kriel's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Cup slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Kriel stalling.
Kriel wants to take a breather but Cup is having none of it.
Kriel is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Cup tries to roll over but Kriel keeps him under control.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jan Kriel dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Cup works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.


It looks like Jan Kriel has been cut.
Kriel displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Cup throws out the jab.
An inside leg kick lands from Kriel.
Cup throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Kriel counters with a lovely straight right hand!


It looks like Blue Cup has been cut.
Cup throws a lazy head kick
and Kriel connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Kriel scores with a decent looking hook.
Cup looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Cup shoots and misses
and Kriel counters with a big right hand! Oh Cup is in trouble here! Kriel follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jan Kriel!
In his post fight interview, Jan Kriel started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
Blue Cup spoke after the fight, saying 'That wasn't fun.'.
