PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Izuru Midorya (ranked 7517 p4p, 0 weight class) and The Bomberman (ranked 7687 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, The Bomberman!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Jeff Smith and Ryoma Takatsuka.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Midorya closes the distance but Bomberman moves to the side
and Bomberman counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

It looks like Izuru Midorya has been cut.
Midorya tries a head kick but it misses.
Midorya swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Bomberman counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Midorya is rocked!
Midorya shoots in for a double leg but Bomberman sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Midorya shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Bomberman defends it nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bomberman lands a nice looking kick to the body. Midorya takes a step back to recover.
Midorya is breathing heavily.

Midorya tries to clinch up.
Bomberman pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Midorya doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Midorya takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Izuru Midorya. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Midorya feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Bomberman not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Bomberman wants to sweep here but Midorya controlling him for the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Midorya keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Bomberman's head.
Midorya prevents Bomberman from getting back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bomberman is wriggling around but Midorya manages to pass to half guard.

Midorya thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Midorya really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Bomberman tries to kick Midorya off but Midorya keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Midorya shoots for a double leg takedown but Bomberman sprawls well. He's pushed Midorya's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Ouch! a nice leg kick from Bomberman, right into the meat.
Bomberman stuffs the takedown.

Midorya moves into the clinch.
Bomberman lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Midorya backwards.
Bomberman misses with some punches.

Bomberman escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Bomberman connects with a leg kick. Midorya looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Bomberman lands with a shot to the body.
Bomberman throws a sloppy head kick and Midorya moves out of range easily.
Midorya was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Midorya gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Bomberman counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Nice uppercut there from Bomberman.

Izuru Midorya's cut is getting worse.
Bomberman fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
That kick from Bomberman tenderised Midorya's leg. Midorya is trying to keep his angry face on.

The Bomberman is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A low kick from Midorya is predictable there
and Bomberman scores with a counter punch that sends Midorya to the canvas! Bomberman smells blood - he's punishing Midorya with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Midorya has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). The Bomberman!
In his post fight interview, The Bomberman gave a big smile as he said 'eat my ass'.
