The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rand shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Flannerry as he jumps to the side.
A quick step to the side and Flannerry tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

and Flannerry counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Rand thinking.
Mickey Flannerry has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ayn Rand.
Flannerry throws the left hand but Rand avoids the punch easily.

It looks like Ayn Rand has been cut.
Flannerry changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Rand is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
We've been told by Flannerry's head coaches at Damage Inc. that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

After the fight, Mickey Flannerry was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
